House rules

Updated 19 October 2026

ahiska.club is a cultural and historical project: the family trees, elders’ memory, language and culture of the Ahıska Turks. It is neither political nor commercial. By entering the house you accept these rules.

House manners

ahiska.club was created to keep in the digital world all that is best and most precious in the Ahıska Turks: culture, traditions, knowledge and memory. Here we behave as one behaves in the elders’ home.

  1. Respect and courtesy

We speak as we would with elders at one table. We argue about the matter, never about the person.

  2. Outside politics and campaigning

The house belongs to no party or movement. No campaigning, no petitions, no dividing people into camps.

  3. No hatred, no aggression

Neither towards our own nor towards other peoples. Swearing, insults and threats do not get through — the message is not sent.

  4. Memory and culture come first

We write about our families, villages, language, customs — whatever is worth keeping for our children. No ads, no outside links.

  5. The best version of ourselves

We help, share knowledge and give thanks. Here each of us is how the whole people is judged.

Whoever breaks the manners gets a warning; whoever does not listen gets silence, then a block by the keeper’s decision. But the point is not the bans: we call each other to be better.

Who can enter

The site is open from age 16. You become a member of the house by invitation or by someone vouching for you; whoever registers on their own is a misafir, a guest of the house: knowledge, their own tools, other misafirs and (after the first vouch) members who allowed it are open to them. A misafir becomes a member when two trusted members vouch for them.

One person — one profile, under your real first and last name. Nicknames, invented names and other people’s names are not allowed — such a profile is blocked.

How we live

Respect, dignity and care for family memory. No insults, harassment, threats or advertising.

No politics or campaigning. No selling of heirlooms and no collecting money in the name of the house.

Relatives’ names may be added to the tree freely. A photo of a living person — only with their consent; of children — with their parents’ consent.

Write about the past as your family knows it and mark where you are unsure. Inventing things about another family is not allowed.

Yours stays yours

Voice recordings, the tree, photos and texts belong to you and your family. You allow the house to store them and show them to those you choose. Anything is shown to guests from the internet only with your explicit consent.

You can download or delete your content at any time (see “Privacy”).

Order in the house

Swearing and insults do not get through: such a message is not sent; the first two times bring a warning, the third a 7-day silence in conversations, the Yard and messages, then 30 days. Blocking an account is decided by the keeper of the house, not by a machine. Moderators may hide a post that breaks the rules; a message reported by three people is hidden until review. You can report on a person’s page, under a message or to support.

Honestly about the site

The house is free and kept up by volunteers. We do everything to keep it running and the data safe, but we cannot promise there will never be outages. The Keeper is an AI helper and can be wrong.

If the rules change, we will say so on the site and update the date above.
